EKSC ANNOUNCES NANODAYS SCHEDULE
The East Kentucky Science Center and Planetarium has released its schedule for NanoDays.
The nationwide festival of educational programs about nonoscale science and engineering will kick off on Saturday, March 29, at 1 p.m. and 2:45 p.m. The festival will continue at 2:45 p.m. daily from April 1-4. EKSC is one of only two science centers in Kentucky to host the festival.
Many scientists believe nano technologies and materials could transform lives as much as the automobile, personal computer and even the Internet. Through the assistance of the Nanoscale Informal Science Education Network (NISE Net), facilities, such as the EKSC, learn from each other about this emerging field.
NISE Net is a national community of researchers and informal science educators dedicated to fostering public awareness, engagement and understanding about nanoscale science, engineering and technology. The NISE Network community in the United States is led by 12 organizations and includes hundreds of museums and universities nationwide. NISE Net was created in 2005 with funding from the National Science Foundation.
