SMITH FEATURED IN BSCTC ART GALLERY

The Big Sandy Community and Technical Art Gallery will feature the work of Pamela Smith through March 15.

Smith, a BSCTC student, features painting and textile art. The gallery is located on the Prestonsburg campus of BSCTC in the Magoffin Learning Resource Center.

A native of Prestonsburg, Smith is inspired by folk art and her feelings for home and family. She’s a self-taught artist, whose hobbies are painting and quilting. Her work is featured throughout the region, and one of her paintings featured in the gallery is inspired by 20th century regionalist painter Grant Woods’ “American Gothic.”

Smith resides on Middle Creek.

The Art Gallery is open Monday through Thursday from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. and from 9 a.m. to noon on Friday. For more information, call (606) 886-3863, Ext. 64746.
