BSCTC’S MAYO CAMPUS NAMED PEARSON VUE TESTING CENTER FOR GED

Big Sandy Community and Technical College’s (BSCTC) Mayo campus has been named a Pearson Vue Testing Center and will administer GED testing.

In January, the GED Testing Service launched its new test, which is delivered on a computer based platform. According to GED Testing Service, the new test has many new features that haven’t been available in the past and are unique to the program. A few of the new features include:

• A more flexible system that allows adults to schedule and pay for tests one at a time, and test at more convenient times and locations.
• A one-stop website with personalized study plans, skills assessment, career information, college and financial aid information and more.

The new GED test measures high school equivalency and provides information on the test taker’s college readiness. It is the only test fully aligned to national college and career readiness standards.

Linda Dyer and Lisa Pelphrey are certified Testing Administrators through Pearson Vue. The company is a leader in providing innovative testing technology, offering streamline of services for test takers, accessibility and flexibility, highly secure testing environments, quick turnaround time for results and access to success.

“The new GED program provides so many great services,” said Dr. Chris Daniel, associate dean for academic affairs at BSCTC. “This include an individualized roadmap for test takers, online resources for career pathways, college and career readiness standards for adult education and same-day access to test results.”
