Cosmetology

Student working on hair in cosmetology labThe Cosmetology Program prepares students for employment as a salon stylist.  Students gain skills in hairstyling, haircutting, shampooing, chemical texture services, skin and nail care and as a salon manager.  The Cosmetology Program is conducted as a joint effort of Big Sandy Community and Technical College and the Kentucky State Board of Cosmetology and Hairdressers. 

Where can I work?

Most of these workers are employed in beauty salons, but they also are found in nail salons, day and resort spas, and nursing and other residential care homes.
